Can anyone name an foods grown in the desert?!
Answers:
In the Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest they grow cantaloupes, citrus, peaches, tomatoes, corn, beans and squash - of course much of this is done with irrigation - with irrigation, just about anything can be grown in a desert!. Foods that grow naturally are cactus, prickly pear, beans, squash, corn and mesquite - the beans of the pods from the mesquite were ground into a flour by the Hohokam of the Phoenix area and used to thicken soups and stews and make a kind of bread!.
