Answers:
Barley while an hearty and healty cereal grain, it does not flake the same way as oats and wheat, it has a harder core and is more fiberous!.

Wheat and Oats even rye can be flatten into a flake form, barley just becomes a floury mass when pressed!. But you can crack the barley in a food processor and cook it like long cooking Scottish oatmeal or the Pin style from Ireland, it is best do slow, here in Canada, I often cook my Scottish oatmeal in a slow cooker/crockpot on low overnight and have hot the next morning, it is better that way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
