What are the colored circles on snack food bags.?!
This question has already been asked, and most people say that it is for the printer to see what colors it is using, and to run some tests on the quality of the printouts!. I have some doubts though!. For example, I have seen bags of Doritos that are mostly orange that have a whole rainbow of colored dots, but the Hostess Banana Walnut Muffin Loaf that i am eating right now only has a light brown, dark brown, light yellow, and dark yellow circles, even though it has prominent blue and red coloring on the package!. My next guesse would be that the dots represent the food colorings used, which in this case would work, but I could swear I have seen other bags that seem to imply that this is wrong too!. I have also thought of them as being a new school bar code of sorts or part of an alignment system for the packageing machines, but no explanation that I have come up with or come accross seems to make total sense!. Does anyone know diffinitively what these colored circles are for!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know exactly what you are talking about and have also wondered about it!. I am not sure though what they areWww@FoodAQ@Com
Pretty sure they are called, "print registration indicators or marks"!.
The colors are overlays and each one printed seprately so the registration marks indicated the alignment of each color run!. ALL COLORs ARE A BLEND OF THE PRIMARY COLORS!. U want green, you print yellow and blue(cyan)!. How do you think a color printer works!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
