Is it safe to eat hamburger that has freezer burn?!
We bought a bag of frozen hamburger patties!. I had one yesterday and had a terrible headache today!. I never bought frozen burgers before so it didn't register that they looked funny!. Should I throw them out!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Freezer burn should not appear on freshly bought burgers, so there is a fair chance they were defrosted a couple of times along the way!. Normally, freezer burn appears on burgers (or other meat) when it has been stored (properly frozen) for some time in wrapping which is too thin!. Down through the years, I have probably eaten several pounds of meat with freezer burn without noticeable harm, but usually by cooking it to break it up and deal with the tougher results of the burn!.
If all you had was the headache and no stomach problems, it is less likely it was the meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes you could eat it, although you must cook it first!. Naturally it will not be as good if it has freezer burn!. (probably a little dry) If you are not happy with the product then contact the manufacturer!. The headache may or may not be related!. check the ingrediants list for any nasty chemical addatives!. Its so easy to make your own burger patties and they will always taste better than Crap in a box!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Yes, freezer burn is just it got dried out!. Food poisoning from bad meat doesn't cause a headache, it would cause diarrhea and stomach cramping and puking like you wouldn't believe!. I had food poisoning and you will completely totally know if that is what it is!. There is nothing else like it!.!. sitting on the toilet with a bucket between your knees because it is coming out both ends at once!. Generally, yes!. Unless the hamburgers were contaminated some other way before being frozen, freezer burn in itself will not harm you!.

well if it was just freezer burn then it would have just tasted bad!. if it looked!.!.!.!.!. multi colored then i would take them back to the store not just throw them out!. they will give you a refund!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
