Salt in tap water?!
I have been told (although i do not believe it) that tap water contains salt!.!.!.The stuff that comes out of your tap at home contains salt and you can drink too much of it!.!.!.rubbish!!! or am I wrongWww@FoodAQ@Com

There is probably no salt in there!. However, there have been reports of discarded medicine (aspirin, ibuprofen) being able to make their way through water treatment facilities and into your tap water - taking too much of these isn't nice for you!.
also, In many areas, chemicals containing fluoride are added to the tap water in an effort to improve public dental health!. This remains a controversial issue in the health, freedoms and rights of the individual!. (From Wikipedia)
Another rumor in my place is that there is a certain amount of lead in the tap water that isn't good for the body!.

but if you have a water softener then its water contains a fair amount of salt - that's why you should NOT soften the tap for the kitchen for drinking water!.

It would depend on where you live!. All natural water contains some minerals, but usually salt is quite low!. Ask your water department for an analysis!. They are required to keep it on file for the public!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
