Question: Why is food so expensive!?
everything is getting more expensive by the month!. last year a box of rice at the supermarket cost $2!.99

a few months ago the price increased to $3!.99

and now just a week ago I saw the price rose again to $4!.50


this, along with everything else in the market!. fruit, vegtable, tomatoes, eggs!.!.!.etc

you cant find anything less than $3 these days
back when i was a kid, $5 used to be able to get you a nice full meal and drink with spare change!. nowadays, you can probably get a small piece of gristle if your lucky

I know what you mean! Between buying gas and food i cant afford to buy anything extra and i cant be driving around to much cause i cant afford it!. its getting a little out of hand! last month i spent $300 on gas!!!!! WTF!!!!! and i spent almost that in food too!!!! basically im working two jobs just to pay for gas and ******* food!!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Americans do not understand barter!.!.

They shop the supermarket controlled by computers rather than the farmer!.!.

The price of food supplies continues to increase as a result of the dollar's decrease in value especially now that we are sliding into recession!. We can only hope for the best!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

scince gas is getting higher the trucks are using more gas so the store has to raise prices to get the trucks there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I remember when I was young, you could buy a loaf of bread for only 90 cents!.!.!.and now they're close to 2$!

And I'm only 22 years old!.!.!.

You know, it's a combination of rising oil prices!.!.!.it takes more money to transport the food from its source to the grocery store!. If you're in the States!.!.!.the economy is going down, and the dollar with it!.!.!.!.

When transportation costs more, everything else will rise alongside it!. The cost of transporting via plane, truck, train, boat!.!.!. it all gets affected!.

To avoid getting caught up in all this!.!.!.I go to the Farmer's Market every Saturday morning and buy local produce from the farmers!. It tastes better, costs less, and I am supporting a sustainable method of getting food to my table!. If you're in an area that has a market!.!.!.I suggest to take a visit!. Plus, it's a fun way to spend an hour or two! I've had great conversations with some of the vendors at the market!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
