Am I a freak because I WILL NOT eat any artificial food co!
It's really tough because I believe that all this artificial things are really bad for you (I have researched them, and I know they are) but it's really hard to convince my friends and family the same thing!. If they offer me something like some skittles or cadbury's chocolate or something, I have to say no!. Sometimes I say it's because I don't like that food, because I'm too ashamed to say that it's unhealthy!.
All I really want to know, is if there is anyone else out there, who knows about the evilness of things like Aspartame and Benzoic acid!?

yes i too know all about chemicals and have spent years researching food!. it's very scary once you get into it and i think it's true that a lot of people would rather not know! I don't eat anything chemical either, i'm not a freak and i'm not ashamed of it!. I say exactly why I don't eat it, they respect my choices and i respect theirs!. we're each responsible for what we put into our own bodies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It's not "evil", but there are a lot more chemicals in our foods than there needs to be, and many of them have hardly been tested!. They have certainly never tested a diet that contains as many additives as what is consumed by many people who eat hardly any fresh food!.
Some chemicals act as preservatives, so it's better to eat food that hasn't gone stale than food that has!. But generally the purpose of chemicals in the food is to fool the eye and the mouth into thinking you're getting something (real food or quality food) that you're not and make more money for food companies!. They get away with this because most people don't care what's in what they eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

See, most people know, they just don't care!. Honestly, a lot of it is overreacting!. People do all this research and find out things are bad for us!. In reality, almost everything is bad for us!. I try to stay away from too much of it, but I'm not gonna kill myself avoiding ALL the bad stuff!. I did give up soda awhile ago, that's just too bad for my liking!.

Just stick to your ideals!. There is a growing awareness of how the food chain is overburdened with chemicals!. I only tell people why I dont eat certain things if they actually ask me why!. Usually I just say no thanks and that is enough!. I have for a long time eaten food as organically produced as I can get it and have watched how the supermarkets are slowly bringing in more organic produce!. So the groundswell is there!. Keep going keep faith!. Why not see if there is an organic *** pro-healthy food society/club/organization in your area!. Do a web search - you may be surprised!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
no you're not!.!.!.some people may find it amusing to be swallowing synthetic preservatives and some are not!. Perhaps people like that already knew the implication but they've got no other choices, plus their body are able to withstand the side effect of the preservatives!.!.!.some may find that their body is not immune to the preservatives, that's why they avoid such additives!.!.!.

No, you're not a freak!. I avoid aspartame like the plague (It was originally developed as an ant killer), and I do my best to avoid the other food additives: My family is prone to a number of health issues as it is, and I would prefer not to be next on the list!.
If you look around, you'll find that there are more and more people adopting a similar stance!.

No you're not a freak!. I watch what I eat carefully, but even more so for my children!. I make all their food from scratch so I know what is in it and never feed them processed food!. My daughter who is nearly four is allowed chocolate, but has only recently tried sweets and that was homemade toffee!. I never let her have anything with colours and other additives in especially sweeteners which is hard as most foods marketed for children contain sweeteners!. Food labeled as healthy for children and sugar free is generally the worst for them!. As she is getting older it is harder, but luckily she loves all fruit and vegetable and is more than happy drinking water or natural fruit juice!. Many of my friends feel the same so she doesn't feel she is missing out!. My parents and mother in law are the only people I struggle with about it!. They don't understand my concerns as they feel they ate sweets etc when they were younger and so did I as well as my husband, but far more additives are used these days!.

It doesn’t make you a freak, but it would make it difficult to cook for you!. For there is very little these days that doesn’t have something artificial in it!. Even many of the “all natural” foods have something artificial in it!.
While granted some of the items are not good for a person, especially if the person tends to eat or drink foods with the items in them all the time (for instance if one only drinks soda)!. In small/reasonable quantities most of the chemicals are not going to do anything to you!.
As for the first part of your question, there is also a difference between watching what you eat and being unreasonable about it!. Where the real problem comes is how fanatical/obnoxious to others you are about not eating the foods!.
For instance if you visit someone that has prepared a meal for you, trying as best they can to keep everything the way they think you want it prepared, it would be very rude to fuss about it and not at least try to eat some of the meal!.
Or you may one day be in a location where the only choice for a meal, is you can eat what is there or you do not eat at all!. You are lucky to be in a country and location where you have a choice of what kind of food you choose to eat and for the most part there is plenty of it!.
Let me add one thought on eating a well-balanced meal!. While eating natural foods is probably better for the body, we don’t always get all the vitamins and minerals we need from those foods!. Thus we need to supplement the food with vitamins or other form of fortified foods!.
also do not make the assumption that everything that is 100% all natural is good for you!.
Cyanide is 100% all natural and found in the seeds of several fruits and potentially in very low levels of some of the “all natural” foods you now eat!. But much like some of the artificial “poisons” you talked about as long as your diet does not consist of only one type of food/drink and you keep your meals balanced and healthy and exercise, eating or drinking something outside your primary diet, even really nasty junk food, every now and then is not going to do much of anything to you!.

Genetically modified, synthetic sugar substitute!. Some people sensitive to it report dizziness, headaches and even seizures!. Some suggest it can alter behavior!.
Benzoic Acid
Affects nervous system and is moderately toxic by ingestion!. Can cause eye and skin irritation!.
However the biggest contributor to the intake of these two is soft drinks!. If one avoids the sodas and drinks the worlds oldest drink (water) it will help clean the body and be over all better!.
However, believe it or not, like anything one can drink too much water, to a point it is also dangerous to a person’s health!.
Which is why I keep suggesting to people when it comes to eating and drinking to simply use the good common sense that Our Creator gave us and do things in balanced moderation!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
