Answers:
Eating a high fat diet (including a lot of fried foods such as chicken), as well as smoking, obesity, and physical inactivity can all lead to atheroma!.
Your doctor has tests he or she can run to detect it if you have it and how advanced it is!. Including Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), Angiography, and CT Scans!.
EDIT: For those that never heard of atheroma, it's a fatty deposit in the intima (inner lining) of an artery, resulting from atherosclerosis!. also called an atherosclerotic plaque, arterial plaque or, simply, a plaque!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Never heard of atheroma (unless you're spelling it wrong)!. R u talking about hardening of the artieres!? If so!. Yes!. Fried anything is not healthy for the arteries unless you don't mind a bypass in x number of years!.
However, no need to miss fried chicken!. Put a cookie cooling wire rack over a baking pan or oven-to-table plate and bake the salt and peppered chicken on it at 350 degrees for approx 45 minutes depending on size of chicken parts!. YUMMY!. Been doing it for decades!. Like it a little crunchier!? Bake a little longer at either 350 or 375 for approx 10 minutes more depending on how hot your oven runs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
