Is sushi ok to eat the day after even if it's been in the freezer?!

Question: Is sushi ok to eat the day after even if it's been in the freezer!?
Okay, well my Mum yesterday bought me Sushi to eat today and left it in the freezer, however I don't think it's safe to eat!.

Mum said that it's probable they didn't make it that day, and I pointed out that even if that's so it's still been kept in the exact right temperature to keep it safe!.

So do you think I should not eat it!? Because I'm really thinking I shouldn't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
you'd probably be *safe* eating it, as freezing slows bacteria growth, which is how it preserves food!.!.!. the thawing could be a risk, but I think the biggest problem will be that your sushi is going to taste awful!

I would never ever freeze sushi, it is a very delicate style of cuisine, freezing and then thawing sushi would just trash the texture of the nori, rice and fillings!.

and contrary to your mum's assumption, in my experience even the cheapest little sushi stalls make their sushi fresh daily!.!. you can tell if it's old because the nori (the seaweed) will be really chewy!.

you can leave it in the fridge, the bacteria build-up in just one night shouldn't be too serious!.!. I've made a bunch of rolls and left them unsliced in the fridge overnight, no probs!.

I wouldn't eat it now it's been frozen though, sorry!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

What kind of filling does your sushi have!?
(The term means vinegared rice molded around a filling!.)
If it's been frozen, and kept at a safe temperature between buying and freezing, it's probably fine to eat!. The texture may suffer from the freezing, though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
