right away where as ones on the shelf have been sitting there for ages and in fact I have bought a few things and inside have been rotten so if I am giving my 17 month old son vegetables should I buy frozen or fresh, whats you opinion!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
your initial thoughts are correct
they freeze them so quickly after picking that the nutrients are not lost through oxidisation

when mine were little, bags of frozen veggies were a godsend
so easy to cook a little at a time from the bag, ideal and healthy

you can now get single servings of mixed veg that go in the microwave, they are like eating steamed veggies (yum and even better than boiled)
would work oout way more expensive than big bags though, especially for a littly, but what i did was, i took a few from each bag, placed in a microwavable jug
add and inch of water and cooked for approx 4 mins(depending on how much of what) voila a whole bowl of yummy vegWww@FoodAQ@Com

yep because they are snapped frozen almost as soon as they are picked so they retain all the nutrients!. the ones you buy at the green grocers or in supermarkets have been kept in cold storage for months thats why they are not as fresh as they should be unless you grow them yourself!.

You should not feel too bad about using frozen they are as good as fresh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Supposedly so, because some of the nutrients are lost during the high heat of the canning process!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
