I'm making spaghetti and meatballs for dinner?!

Question: I'm making spaghetti and meatballs for dinner!?
and the spaghetti sauce I'm using has cheese in it!. We are having a heatwave right now and I wanted to know if I should just leave the pot of spaghetti on the stove after I prepare it so it will cool or should I refrigerate it while still hot because we probably won't eat it until later on in the evening around 7:00 or 8:00 p!.m!. It's 12:25 now!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're not going out for a while, move the sauce to another burner to cool to room temperature then put it in the fridge!. You can always stove-heat or microwave the spaghetti and sauce later!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It'll be fine if you don't refrigere it!.!.!. but spaghetti sauce in a heat wave!. Spaghetti sauce (with pasta) is a heavy, somewhat spicy dish to have during a heatwave, or even in the summer!. That's something I never fix when it's hot!. It's not only a well seasoned dish (lots of herbs, spices and fresh garlic) but pasta is heavy as well!. Heavey dishes are extremely filling and harder to digest!. The heat makes it even more difficult to battle that bloated discomfort that can occur after a heavy meal!. I would consider putting that sauce in the fridge and having it in a few days when the weather cools down a bit!.

If you're making sauce, it should simmer on a low heat for several hours!. But even if you've already done that (you had to have started VERY early), it should be fine if left covered on the stove until ready to serve if serving it tonight!. Italian sauce is very dense!. It takes a large pot a long time to cool completely!. You can turn your's back on to a low heat an hour or so before serving!.

I think I misunderstood!.!.!. you made the actual spaghetti ahead of time, or did you mean the sauce!? Spaghetti you usually cook JUST before you're ready to serve the meal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would not leave any food out during a heatwave for obvious reasons!. You can put a piece of aluminum foil doubled or not in your fridge to protect the glass shelf and transfer the pot into fridge preferably while still hot!. Don't forget to cover it!. Great pot but no cover!? Use a plate!. Take it out again 1 hr ahead and start cooking it again on low!. 1/2 hr before serving turn up the heat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

im also in the heat wave! WOOH ITS HOT TODAY!
Well if you have pre made sauce just heat it up right before dinner -while your spaghetti is cooking!.!.!. also wait until the last minute to cook your pasta

you cant cook spaghetti and meatballs to soon in advance! the whole meal should take you 20-30 minutes so i say wait until 7 to start cookingWww@FoodAQ@Com

one thing you should do is not mix then refrigerate, you should keep the sauce separate from the spaghetti and meatballs!.

also add butter to the noodles to keep them from sticking to each other!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
