Lifting weights and eating?!

Question: Lifting weights and eating!?
I am 14 and lift weights!. I am just wondering what is the best things to eat right after and before a workout to help my muscles get bigger (but not a shake of some kind, a actual food)!. I also want to know what is a good food that is pretty inexpensive and easy to make that would be good to eat or drink right after a workout or during my resting days!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When you are working out, it's best to try to have a balanced snack about an hour or a little less before the workout!. That means you put together a very lean protein, a good fat, and a good, quality carbohydrate!. Some good suggestions for this are a whole grain cracker with low fat cheese (some recommend Laughing Cow), and eaten with a few grapes or raisins; or try a half an apple with 2 T peanut butter; or how about a cup of plain yogurt with 1/2 cup fruit (I like frozen berries) and 1/3 cup granola (low in sugar and fat)!. These are all good recommendations for snacks!.

After your workout, nothing beats 8 oz of low fat chocolate milk!. It rehydrates and puts back proteins and carbohydrates you lose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
