Answers:
depends on the variety!. small brown turkey figs are great right off the tree!. some larger varieties never turn brown and I prefer to peel themWww@FoodAQ@Com
As you say figs can be eaten with skins on ,they should be fresh & have soft supple skins, not very fresh fruit with a leathery ,crinkled skin are not only unattractive but a tough job to chew through!.
Go by what appeals to you after all you should be enjoying your food & fruit ,you will be losing a lot of nutritive value though if you discard skins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As long as the figs are ripe and the skin is soft then they taste better to eat with the skins on!. Really good for you so enjoy them while they are in season!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I only remove the top part (the hard stem) and eat the rest, skin and all!. It's great!Www@FoodAQ@Com
