Answers:
I was alway told that dented cans could contain bacteria in them!. Even though it might not be punctured something still might be growing inside, the most common form of bacteria that is in cans is botulism!.!.which can lead to death!. So I would steer clear of any cans that are dented or have bulges!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sometimes!. But you should err on the side of caution and not consume foods that are canned commercially if the can is dented!.

A dent in the can allows an air leak that causes bacteria to grow and can lead to foodborne botulism, a rare but dangerous muscle-paralyzing illness caused by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Everyone has great answers!. One other thing to look for is if the ends of a can looks swollen or puffed up that means there is a leak and the food would surely be contaminated!. I would stay away from canned meats or any tomato products!. The meats for obvious reasons & the tomato because of the acid content that seeps into the dents and would taste bad not to mention that it would be probably spoiled!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only issue is if the dent compromised the seal or put a hole in the can therefore beginning the breakdown of the food inside!. It really is as simple as that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To play it safe, I don't buy a bent can!. If it is broken and not seen by the human eye, it can be letting all kinds of trouble into the can!. You don't want air getting into the can!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

unless the can is punctured the contents are safeWww@FoodAQ@Com
