Today I found a stick of butter that was inadvertently left in a Christmas butter dish -- is it still edible ?!
The butter dish had a lid on it, of course!. Thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

BUTTER, no, it's a dairy product!. Since you didn't say it "stunk to high heaven" (which it would, refrigerated or not,) you' are probably talking about MARGARINE, which, if refrigerated, has enough preservatives in it to keep an elephant stiff!. So oddly enough, Margarine would probably still be just as edible as it was at Christmas!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
if it was refrigerated the whole time, I would use it, if there was no irksome smell or evidence of mold!.
That being said, I am not recommending YOU do it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
