BUTTER, no, it's a dairy product!. Since you didn't say it "stunk to high heaven" (which it would, refrigerated or not,) you' are probably talking about MARGARINE, which, if refrigerated, has enough preservatives in it to keep an elephant stiff!. So oddly enough, Margarine would probably still be just as edible as it was at Christmas!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it was refrigerated the whole time, I would use it, if there was no irksome smell or evidence of mold!.
