What is being done with the salmonella tainted tomatoes?!

Question: What is being done with the salmonella tainted tomatoes!?
From what I have read, a fairly high proportion of chickens and eggs are contaminated with salmonella!. It's not a problem because they are cooked and heat kills salmonella!. Which brings me to my question!.!.!.!.!.

Are the tomatoes being disposed of or are they being used in some manner that cooks them!? Keeping in mind that most of the tomatoes that are being removed from supermarket produce counters are not actually contaminated!. It is merely the possibility of contamination that has forced their removal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I do not know what they are doing with the tomatoes in general but I know mine were cooked last night and added to dinner!.

As to the ones in the stores they are most likely just thrown out as the store can not cook them and would risk liability if someone said they would cook them properly and someone got sick from them!. SAd sad world we live in when it is the safest solution to throw away food as people all over the world starve to death!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's the possibility that is causing them to be removed!. there have been no cases in ohio and it's still hard to find tomatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
