If French Fries are American made in America by American’s why not call them American Fries instead of French Fries!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
LOL Because France is the country where what we know as French fries first became popular!. Interestingly, they were (according to the story I know) originally invented in Belgium, not France!.
Furthermore, they're not universally called "French fries"; they're "chips" (as in the expression "fish and chips") in the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth nations and they're also called "fries" or "French-fried potatoes"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
