Yes, flys!.!.!. they will carry maggot eggs on them and when they land on the meat it will drop the eggs!. (also if you leave meat out in 90 degree weather it will cook its self!.)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Maggots are fly larva!. And yes it is true!. This why food should always be refrigerated, especially meat!.

I agree with most answers, that maggots are fly larvae!. Just as gross is that when flies land on your food (even while you are still eating) like at a picnic, they stick their little probiscus mouth into the food and vomit their saliva into the food so it will break down and they can "suck" it up!.
