RDA says raw tomatoes are bad?!

Question: RDA says raw tomatoes are bad!?
So i went to subway today and ordered my sub as usual!.!.!."lettuce, tomatoe, pickle, cucumber, lots of olives and jalapenoes"!.!.!.just like i do 3x a week!. But today there was some sign on the glass that said the RDA has said not to eat raw tomatoes!.!.!.

I was just wondering what was up with that!?!? my sub is incomplete!! I tried googling it but all i got was like the nutritional facts for tomatoes or something!.!.!. Is there like a "mad tomatoe" disease going around or something!?!?

Cheers,

Hello Paul,
Last week people started heading into the hospitals with flue like symptoms, one cancer patient died (waiting on if it was from the tomatoes)!.
They traced the flue like symptoms to tomatoes!.

Apparently bad fertilizer was used to grow certain kinds that are mass grown and shipped all over!. Surprising how many people are getting sick!.
So the business are taking the safe way and just pulling them!. We throw the ones we had away!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There's a salmonella outbreak!. Even McDonalds won't give you tomatoes right now!.

Sorry!.!.!. grow your own!.!.!. or you'll have to do without!.

(I tried to order a BLT today and the snack shop would only give me a BL)

ADDED NOTE: The salmonella outbreak is not limited to the states the person above me mentioned!. In fact, I thought the southern states weren't having problems with the tainted tomatoes!. I'm in Illinois and there have been many outbreaks here!. There are quite a few states affected!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There has been a salmonaella outbreak with some tomatoes!. So now a lot of stores and restaurants have pulled them off the shelves!. Apparently, though, it is still safe to eat vine-ripened tomatoes and locally grown tomatoes (depending on the location, of course) as I ordered a sandwich from Reid's today (Charlotte, NC) and got tomatoes on mine!. The deli woman said that they're still able to serve them there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
