I am a former chef and it could be any of hundreds of local sea creatures and as someone knowledgeable of these forms your familar with may, as a former chef and having travelled to both Thailand and Vietnam and worked in Singapore in a hotel back in the 1980's, it could be one of 200 species of shrimp, there are both freshwater and saltwater varietys, even some are there a larger prawn like a langostine or crayfish, in Hong Kong they have one that is a beautiful blue and yellow, but the chinese to english translation is called "Urinating Prawns", I have seen in my travels may different a wild creatures, so I would go with one of the local shrimp or prawn species if it is the one I saw also!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Ever heard of a gooey-duck!? It's really spelled geoduc, but pronounced the way I spell it!. The gooey-duck is a huge white-shelled type of clam that grows up to 8" wide, with a very long 'neck' which protrudes out of the shell to perform various important bodily functions, like eating and breathing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
