Why when we chew bubble gum and ice @ the same time, does the gum get tough to chew on?!

Question: Why when we chew bubble gum and ice @ the same time, does the gum get tough to chew on!?
Answers:
im guessing it's because at colder temperatures, molecules move more slowly, so they don't slide around as much!. the gum gets less liquid-y!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
