Has anyone ever heard of Mango fish??!


Question: Has anyone ever heard of Mango fish!?!?
A friend went on a fishing trip to Tampa and brought back a bunch of fish he called Mango fish!. Never heard of it before and I can't find what kind of fish it actually is!. Help! I have no idea if it safe to eat or not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A Mango Fish is a sea fish that lives in the ocean the warmer the sea is the better they like it, its a tropical fish they live in schools of them, not a solitary fish!. you can eat them they are not poisionous, they originally come from Peru you can grill or BBQ them beware they have tiny little bones when they are cooked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

He was refering to it as a fish but there is recipes that say mango fish!. So he ment mango fish as in you can make it into a taco with the "mango fish" its like seasoning it!. And yest they are okay to eat!. here is couple links of what he was refering to of a mango fish!.

a fish of the Ganges (Polynemus risua), highly esteemed for food!. It has several long, slender filaments below the pectoral fins!. It appears about the same time with the mango fruit, in April and May, whence the name!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

people often just give new names to make a common food sound exotic !.
I did a search on Monk fish Only to discover it was just another Ray fish or shark
Remember Jewish people can not (!?!?) eat fish without scales so give it a fancy new name!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
