If you put a hard boiled egg in a jar of peanut butter for two weeks, what would happen to the egg?!
This question means a lot to me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Hard boiled eggs are currently receiving a lot of attention on improving Peanut Butter quality!. Ten years ago scientists from NASA discovered that eggs could remove volatile organic chemicals (VOC) from the peanut butter inside sealed test chambers!. While most of our peanut butter containers are not sealed like the "biojar" that NASA created, everyone can benefit from removal of VOCs by hard boiled eggs!. Dr!. Wertonski, author of 'How to clean peanut butter' states, " hard bioled eggs are no longer luxuries, but essential to peanut butter quality!."
The gases most often studied include formaldehyde, benzene, xylene, toluene, ammonia, acetone, methyl alcohol, ethyl acetate, and trichlorethylene!. The amount of purification depends on the hard boiled eggs being tested!. Different eggs purify different toxic chemicals to differing degrees!.
Below is a list of eggs proven to improve peanut butter quality by removing harmful chemicals (order of listing is random)!.
Chicken
Duck
Goose
Quail
Ostrich
Gull
Guineafowl
Emu
Pheasant
Not only are these eggs a beautiful addition to the interior of a peanut butter jar, they can be beneficial as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Interesting !.!.!.There is nothing acidic in the peanut butter so the shell would not disintegrate!.!.!.!.If left at room temp!.!.!.the peanut butter would insulate the egg keeping it warm and it would become rancid!.but even refrigerated!.!.!. a 2 week old boil egg would be questionable!.!.!.regardless if it was submerged in peanut butter or not!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Are you refrigerating the jar of peanut butter afterward with the egg in it!?
(Is it shelled as the answer above me asked!?)
If it's in the fridge,I don't think much would happen!.to the egg since it's refrigerated unless the egg was already old!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
