Question: Loads of questions about strawberries!.!?
It’s strawberry season,

When I buy strawberries- I get them home, wash them, pop them in the fridge!. They only last for around one day !!? Then they go rotten or black!. How long on average should strawberries last !? Should I stop putting them in the fridge!?

also, are strawberries being enhanced somehow ( not so much genetically) !? I notice a lot of them have a kind of unnatural powdery sugar taste- like they’ve been injected with something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sadly, due to mass production methods and the flying of foods around the world, there is no strawberry season as such anymore - they're more or less available all year round!. They should last a lot longer than a day - about 4-5 days, normally!. If you must wash them, either do so just before you're going to use them or, if they must be prepared ahead, wash and THEN DRY WELL!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If possible it is best to buy your strawberry's in season grown locally to where you live!. Sometimes they are flown in from other country's where they are picked just before they are ripe, this could count for the texture that you are tasting!. You need to only wash them when you are ready to use them! Washing them right away makes them rot faster! I made that mistake and they last alot longer if you wash the amount you need only when you need them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
