Sounds like you're referring to the famous "oxymoron"!. Other examples are army intelligence and big beautiful woman (pardon me, big beautiful women)!.

I have, though, seen shrimp that are over 9" long!.!.!.nearly as big as a lobster!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's an oxymoron!. And no!. I'm not calling you names!. Just like plastic glass, or my favorite, military intelligence!.
Seriously though, jumbo shrimp are sold by the number of shrimp per pound!. Fewer shrimp in a pound= larger shrimp!. a "26-30 count" is a nice size for butterflying and frying!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am assuming you are talking about Gambas!.!.!. I live in France and the average shrimp I buy at the store is usually the size of my thumb or index finger!.!.!. I have never even seen those sad, teeny little things they sell in the states, sold here, I doubt anyone would buy them!.!.!. anyway, compared to those I would call them jumboWww@FoodAQ@Com

A huge cocktail with small shrimp!.
