Question: How long can chicken be in the fridge before cooking!?
I took chicken breast out of the freezer friday night and put it in the fridge!. I forgot it was in there!. It's been in the fridge for abou 4 days now!. Can we still cook it and eat it or is it going to be bad!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It is probably still okay!. It would have been still thawing on the first day, then in cold storage for a few more!. Depending on how fresh it was to start with, you may still be fine!. Give it the smell test!. If in doubt, throw it out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I do not like using meat if I left it in the fridge longer than 2 days!.
Meat looses its juices within the first 24 hours, then they go down hill from there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

3 days is safe for thawed chicken!. After that you may be taking a chance but you certainly shouldn't use it if it smells funny!Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's fine you can still cook itWww@FoodAQ@Com

Since it was thawed in the fridge it is probably still safe but use it very soon or throw it away,Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've done that a few times!. If nothing looks or smells funky, then you should be fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
