Is there a lot of caffeine in chocolate?!

Question: Is there a lot of caffeine in chocolate!?
If someone cuts out chocolate entirely, would it make sense for them to start wanting more coffee!? Or is there not that much caffeine in chocolate!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hello,
Chocolate does contain caffeine but, you would have to eat 10 bars of it to equal the caffeine in one cup of coffee!. So, I don't think that you'll crave more coffee!.

Remember, small amounts of dark chocolate are good for you!. It contains iron and antioxiants!. So for me, since I love chocolate I would probably starting nibbling on a few pieces of that instead of eliminating it all together!

I hope this helped you out!
Good Luck!

Not only is there caffeine, there are other stimulating alkaloids in cocoa!. How someone reacts to suddenly giving up chocolate depends how much chocolate they've been eating, and the cocoa content!. also, they could feel groggy from the sugar withdrawal!.
I don't recommend cold turkey, but gradually reducing the serving size!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you cut out caffeine and you are addicted to it then that would make sense!.

but it does not sound particularly normal!.

Cutting caffeine is good for your brain!. The chemicals in it constrict the blood vessels!.

its not dangerous, but the less caffeine you are addicted to the better!. and its not like pot, or heroin were the addiction is extreme!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There IS caffeine in chocolate; more in dark (http://www!.amanochocolate!.com/articles/c!.!.!.

However, it IS possible to exchange one addiction for another; I knew a woman who was addicted to cocaine (a nurse, no less!) and would put enough sugar in her coffee or tea to make your teeth curl!
I was fairly nasty when I cut out caffeine; as a teacher, I decided it wasn't worth biting my students heads off, so I went back to lesser amounts!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It has some caffeine, from the cocoa bean!.It's main stimulant is sugar and it releases a chemical into the brain which stimulates serotonin levels, making you feel pleasurable and at times wanting a bit of how's your father,nudge,nudge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
