Question: It doesn't make sense, WHY WOULD A TOASTER BE MADE LIKE THAT>!?
Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
That would be because a "toaster" doesn't JUST toast bread, for one thing!.!.!.!.!.and there are different densities of different breads!.!.!.!.!."Supermarket white fluff" bread toasts much quicker than, say a denser type of bread, such as an English muffin or bagel!.!.!.!.!.

And some people like litely toasted toast, others like it like a piece of charcoal!.!.!.!.!.!.So, personal preference!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

Because toasters are made to toast other things and that setting doesn't burn them eg crumpets (Australia kind)!. also my mother always burn't her toast if she felt sick because the charcoal is good for that or somethingWww@FoodAQ@Com

Maybe your toaster gets excited like you do!. Maybe burning is the equivalent of yelling!.

"Toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a horrible crisp" because that setting isn't for toasting a slice of bread!. Some items require a different, setting!. You have to change the setting for bread, and as with anything you cook that requires a hot element to cook with!.!.!. you watch it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am a former chef with 27 years experience!. I was trained at the New York Institute of Culinary Arts!. I am an educator extraordinaire and have worked at major hotels!. I am a certified small kitchen appliance reviewer and am practiced at both Asian and European Cuisines!. Believe it or not, I have cooked for the military and in 4 star restaurants!. I am a fully trained pastry chef, as well, as well as a saucier!. I noticed your little problem and have deigned to help you!. I'm sorry!. What was the question again!?

If they stopped at dark brown, people would complain!. If they go all the way to burn, people would ask this question!. I rather like the idea of a toaster on the light side ejecting the bread without cooking at all!. Hey, it's a democracy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

i had my toaster for years and it will only brown toast now using that setting!

its meant to be used as it ages LOL
that bar in the middle will only toast quick for so long before it needs more time then you set it to higher

also sometimes i heat up pizza bites or frozen hor dourves and i use that settingWww@FoodAQ@Com

We have the opposite problem here, they toast one side reasonably well and hardly colour the other and you have to switch the slices, then if you want to do another two, they will be the ones that get incinerated!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

two reasons, there are people that actually like it that dark, secondly, there are some really moist breads and buns out there and that setting would toast something moist very nicelyWww@FoodAQ@Com

greater question is why 99% of the population can use a toaster yet you can't seem to get it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

idk but some bread takes forever to toast!. Or bagels!. They have to be in there a pretty long time!. Maybe that's why!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i actually really like grape jelly on burned toast!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it's for people who haven't got a shredder!. they can just burn their dodgy accounts instead!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Haha That is a good question!. But believe it or not I know people who eat that crap!. Pretty nasty if ya ask me!. LolWww@FoodAQ@Com
