Question: Is there such a thing as bread flour!?!? Like u add water to the flour and it makes bread!? also!.!.!.!?
what type of foods have a shelf life of 4 years or betterWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Bread flour exists, but its not a "just add water" thing!. It is flour that has been ground to a certain fineness and given certain additives that make it the ideal choice for making bread!. Bread mix is the "just add water", but I don't think it exists, because the yeast would age very quickly!. If you want to make bread at home, make it from scratch!.

As for the second question, pretty much anything canned lasts forever!. Grain foods (such as wheat, oatmeal, noodles, etc!. NOT processed foods) usually work pretty good too as long as it is dry and inaccessible by insects!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is 'self rising' flour that has baking soda in it!. You could just add water to it and bake it and it would make something like bread, not like yeast-bread though!.

There's two kinds of bread, yeast bread and 'quickbread'!. Muffins and cookies are a form of quickbread!. You make that with baking soda!. Real yeast bread has to have yeast, it has to be kneaded, and it has to have time to rise!.

'Bread flour' is four with a high gluten content!. Gluten is what makes bread rise, it's what makes the dough stringy so it traps the little CO2 bubbles from the yeast!. Pastry flour is low-gluten, bread flour is high-gluten and 'all purpose' flour is somewhere in between!.

Not many kinds of good food have such long shelf lives!. If food lasts that long it's either because it has no food value so insects and mold don't attack it, or it's pumped full of preservatives!. Canned goods should last that long!. Frozen foods probably not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

first question :no!.you need to add other ingredients like sugar, salt ,yeast ,water or milk, oil et!.c!. ,even the bread mixes for bread machines ,need sepparate yeast and other adjuncts as well ,as for the second question, vacuum sealed dry goods ,i!.e!. cerials ,beans ,pastas , and the like will keep for quite some time as long as they are kept free from vermin and moisture and the air ,canned goods are not a good bet as they only have an effective shelf life of about 1!.5 to 2!.0 years still maintaining their wholesomness and nutritional qualities ,after thw 2!.o yr mark they tend to ges rancid and oily in the cans ,things like jerky and dried fish are good things to stock your bunker with as long as they are kept in vacuum sealed containers ,and water can be kept for many years as long as you have some way to disinfect it before you use it ,like sodium hypochlorite tablets ,at the rate of one tablet per 5 gallons of water ,,but if you are going to bunker it for four years you should consider that you will use about 3!.5 to 5!.5 gallons of water per day(at 3!.5 gallons per day you are looking at 5110 gallons for four years )and at 5!.5 g p d over 8000 gals ,good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

there's bread flour and there's bread mix!.

bread flour is used for making bread!. it's a stronger, harder flour than your typical all purpose flour!.

if you want to 'just add water', then you need to look for packaged bread mixes!. they'll be in flour isle, or near the bisquick type products!. they pre-mix and measure everything for you!. normally you just add one, or a combination of, water, milk, butter, shortening, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Bread Flour = It is made from Winter Wheat!. It has a higher protein content that cookie flour, or super refined cake flour!. It is referred to as "strong!." This has to do with moisture content and how much water it will absorb when used!. It has to be added to other ingredients in order to make bread!. It is just the main ingredient!.
Nothing has a shelf life of 4 years!. Sorry, maybe some canned good but that is about all!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, There are quite a few different types of Bread Flour!. My Fave is King Arthur!. It is wholesome, unbleached, no bromate, no chemicals!. I do make Sour Dough bread and need the best flour for great results and I believe that I have found a winner!Www@FoodAQ@Com

normal white flour can be used to make breads!. Some different breads are made with different kinds of flour!.

I think bread is just flour, water, egg, butter yeast baked in order to leven it!.

I dont think Ramen noodles ever go bad!.

(good luck in your bunker!)Www@FoodAQ@Com
