What do countries outside the US call "American cheese"?!

Question: What do countries outside the US call "American cheese"!?
Here in the USA we refer to those yellow (sometimes white) slices of processed cheese food individually wrapped in plastic as "American Cheese"!. We usually use it as a standard for grilled cheese sandwiches or bologna and cheese sandwiches!.

What do countries outside the US call this cheese product!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I suspect that this "cheese food product" is not sold in countries such as Italy and France, where there is a long tradition of fine cheese making!. Has to do with standards!.

I do know that in impoverished countries, Velveeta cheese is highly prized and considered quite a delicacy!.

But then, so is Spam!.

So my answer is that I don't know for sure what it's called, but it might be generically referred to as Velveeta!.

People who travel back to the Philippines and Puerto Rico often pack some Velveeta to be given as gifts!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
