Answers:
I assume it's in the juice/meat of an uncooked tomato!.!.!.!.!.!.which means it must have been in the soil or water when it was growing!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salmonella is more frequently associated with poultry, which carry the bacteria!. But produce is increasingly a vehicle for salmonella infection as well!. Scientists and public-health experts don't completely understand how pathogens contaminate produce!. The bacteria can be found in animal feces, which can spread through contaminated water, manure or improper handling!. It can enter tomatoes through the roots or flowers, or through cracks in the skin of the fruit or the stem scar!. Once inside, the microbe is hard to kill without cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i got sick two times in a row from the tomatoes with salmonella, but i am also have a sensitive stomach now because i have had contaminated food in the past!. just remember, everything that is grown from the ground is not necessarilly healthy depending on where it is grown!. the soil is contaminated and transfers to the plant as it grows!. just wash your fruit and veggies first then your hands before you cook them and it should prevent you from getting sick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

salmonella can be in poop!. In nature, poultry and turtles are common carriers!. Eggs can get it from the hens and from raw pork stored in the same place!. There are a BAJILLION microbes etc!. in the soil!. You could get it from anything!. And the poop in our water ways helps make it into our fields!. The EPA says that 70% of Americas waterways are polluted with conventional farming waste and feedlots!. So basically we are poisoning ourselves with the poop and pesticides and herbicides from the huge industrial farms!. Did you know that if we would feed cattle grass ( which is what they are suppose to eat, not corn) for the 2 weeks prior to slaughter we could cut the E!.coli populations by 80%!. We could cut our risk of E!.coli contamination by 80%!! But we don't!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It was the outside of the tomato that was infected with salmonella!. Just like what happened to scallions, spinach and lettuce!. They are still trying to figure out where it happened!. With the scallions, it was traced back to the washing process that contaminated them!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

most likely due to Monsanto's GMO Tommatoes i read they infuse the DNA of a flounder fish to help the plant resist a light freeze!.the gods only know what crap we are being fed these days!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Probably from the fertilizer, especially if the growers use barn yard manure from chickens, or turkeys!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's from 'migrant workers' in the field , peeing and pooping and not washing their hands then touching the food you eat without washing it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
