BHT and chewing gum...?!


Question: BHT and chewing gum!.!.!.!?
Yesterday I bought a pack of "Extra" (watermelon flavour) chewing gum!. I'm reading the ingredients!.!.!.one of them is BHT (Butylated hydroxytoluene, an anti-oxidant)!. I've read, on Wikipedia, that BHT has been banned for use in food in Australia!.!.!.
So, what is going on!?
Is it really banned in Australia or not!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
