Is it true cheese sticks and stays inside our intestines?!
Maybe I should stop eating cheese!? I heard it builds up within our intestines, like mucus!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
When you eat cheese, it digests just like other food products!. This fallacy came from the idea that it *sometimes* takes longer to digest!. Added fats slow digestion of cheese!. For instance, cheese on a beef burger slows digestion simply because of the fat content!. Your body digests food in certain orders when eaten during a meal because acids break up certain foods easier than others!. Since fat slows the digestion of cheese, it saves it for last (which explains why you feel "full" after eating a cheeseburger as opposed to a burger without the cheese!.) If you are trying to lose weight, you don't need to stop eating cheese!. It is good for calcium and you might eat it as a snack with crackers, but not with beef!.
Keep in mind that your intestines are "smooth muscle" and constantly move food through your body in digestion and help absorb nutrients during that time!. If something remained in your intestines, you would need to see a doctor (like a pen cap that you swallow and it gets "caught" in your intestinal tract)!.

Someone's been "stickin' it to you"!
Cheese, like most other foods digests in the intestines!. Like most proteins, digests slower than sugars!. However, unless you have a milk allergy, then cheese goes through the same digestion process as everything else and will "pass" in about 2 - 3 days!.
Being that it IS a milk product, it may cause your body to secrete more mucous!. But it does not stick like mucous!Www@FoodAQ@Com
