all fish in the sea absorb mercury pretty much at the same rate, so therefore it stands to reason that the older the fish is & larger it is when it is caught the more mercury that fish will have absorbed and so pass on to you!.
If you are going to eat Tuna for example try and eat the smallet varietys such as Albacore / Yellow Fin rather than Bluefin or Ahi as the latter are older larger fish that will have a larger amount of mercury in them due to age x absorption rate!.
Salmon wether wild or farmed will also have an amount of Mercury in them, and logically runs to the same conclusion as the Tuna scenario!. (farmed salmon is a much inferior product think couch potato Vs Athelete)
and NEVER eat shark fin soup, reason 1 the mercury is stored in the fins & 2!. the sharks have their fins sliced off and are tehn thrown back into the sea to drown!. this is not sustainable and completely unenvironmental!. if you need any more info check out monterey bay aquarium's web site
there are many sites talking about mercury consumption and how much is safe for humans!. remember that as each fish is different there is no exact way to measure, so everything in moderation!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
