When I was 1st in London I asked for tea & was shocked that though the tea poured from the pot was clear, the tea in the cup was "clouded" with milk!!!!! I thought it was some kind of trick until it dawned on me that the milk was already in the cup!!! lol
I always had drunk tea plain, but got to enjoy milk in tea sometimes, but then I need to sweeten it!.
I still usually drink tea plain, especially one of my favorites!.!.!.jasmine tea!. : ]Www@FoodAQ@Com

It depends whether you make your tea in the pot or in the cup!. If you use a tea bag in a cup then it is water first then milk as the milk clogs up the holes in the bag so the tea cannot infused properly!. I don't see what difference it would make if you use a teapot though as no one puts the milk in the pot!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Actually I do too, I put the milk in, then hold the teabag at the top of the cup and pour water over it holding onto the teabag, then I don't waste a spoon lol!
There is the theory that the milk clogs the perforations in the bag and that's why its a 'crime' but if you like it weak like me than it ain't no thang!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I'd say milk first if you were making the tea in a tea pot!.
But if you are only making it in a mug, then tea bag first, then the water, then the milk last!
You can't beat a tea pot made cuppa though, and the milk first!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Milk in first!. It warms the milk slightly assuming you've warmed the pot first (always warm the pot first, use preboiled soft water, same as the water you use for your tea)!. Pouring milk in after the tea-pour sours it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Science and etiquette actually agree!.!.!.!.!.MILK IN FIRST!.
Only people whom put milk in after is those obsessed with getting things wrong and with the colour of tea!.
Making tea ain't rocket science!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
