i think thats the neck, and yes thats the right things to do, but you really dont need to cook it for so long!. look for some recipes on the internet for cooking times cos i havent a clue!. hope i helpedWww@FoodAQ@Com
Yes I agree with that!. You can leave it in a good wine marinade for a week and it's better!. Like lamb the venison
still keeps cooking as it comes tio table so don't over cook it,
I'd go with the foil suggestion!. Steaks need marinading and fast cooking in a pan or on a grill!. Serve with cranberry sauce or bilberries or blackberries!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's probably a deer ham!. The way you are talking about cooking it should be fine, but keep a close eye on it !.!.!.and don't expect it to be fall-off-the-bone tender like a roast!. antoher option is to do it on the grill!.
If you ever get a tenderloin, fry it!.!.!.I know it's unhealthy, but it is the best way to have deer!.!.!.ever!.!.!.
Cut into bite size pieces and use House Autry brand Medium-hot breader!. You can use the breader dry like flour or mixed with a little water to make a batter!.!.!.great either wayWww@FoodAQ@Com

venison can taste very gamy!.!.!.my ex-mother-in-law would soak the meat in buttermilk, overnight!. The buttermilk would turn dark colored, she'd throw it out and cook the venison!. It came out fine!. I don't know, but it seems like it would be pretty well tenderized by the time it was finished cooking!. I'm thinking it sounds like you have some type of roast cut!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The bacon is a great suggestion!. One of the worst things you can do is let venison dry out or overcook it!. My favorite way to marinate it is in dark beer, soy sauce, touch of mustard, brown sugar and garlic cloves!. I let it marinate two days and then cook it slowly in the crock pot with the marinade!. DELICIOUS!Www@FoodAQ@Com
When you put it in the slow cooker, be sure to add LOTS of garlic and some chopped onions and drape some bacon over the top too!. Venison is very lean and needs to be cooked slow when it is in roast form!. Serve with mashed potatoes and green beans!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
