Is the dried fruit found in many cereals as healthy as fresh fruit?!
I eat a lot of cereal with that freeze dried style fruit in it!. I have always wondered if it was just as healthy as fresh fruit!. Anyone know!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well it depends!.
It depends on how long the fruit was around before it was dried!. With the loss of water some nutrients are also lost!.
Even fresh fruit may not be the best!. Within 4 hours of being harvested all plants start to loose nutrition!. Lite and heat make this process go faster!. Drying it or freezing it is a great way to preserve fruit much longer!.
As long as you compare the dried fruit knowing how long it has been since it was harvested to when it was dried and compare it to raw fruit that has been harvested as long then you will have a fair compairson!. Then it will be raw fruit will be better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no dried fruit has had most (if not all) of the nutrition sucked out of it!.
