Are Apple seeds poisonous?!

Question: Are Apple seeds poisonous!?
Answers:
Very very mildly, but you would have to eat cups of seeds to be poisoned!. A few seeds are harmless!.

All seeds of the Prunus genus contain amygdalin (which releases hydrogen cyanide) but their amounts vary!. The toxicity is:

bitter almonds > peach pits > apricot pits > cherry and plum pits > apple seeds

In other words, 2-3 cups of apple seeds have the same amount of toxicity as a small handful of bitter almonds!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
