Question: New person entereing the world of workforce!.!?
hey, all!. I'm a soon-to-be 16 year later this month!. as soon as i turn 16, i'm getting my working papers so i can work at at fast food joint!.(mc d's, BK or wendy's)!. since I know little to none of the life of work, my inquisitive mind has brought me to this place!. I need to know so many things, such as:

New York State's minimum wage!.

Is it true that money is taken out of your pay for tax reasons!?

If I apply for a fast food place, do I have to have an interview + job orientation!?

i heard you get paid on your job orientation day!.

if I get the job, would they have me start out as working out the grill!?

do I get to choose my own schedule or are you given a set schedule!?

and finally, should I rather work at a supermarket instead!?

sorry if it's too long!. i'm just really inquisitive about working for the first time!. and please, work experience is more than welcome!. thanks in advance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
7!.15 an hour

Yes you will pay taxes!. You will pay Federal, State, FICA, Medicare and if you live in NYC or Yonkers you will pay a local tax too!. Keep in mind that you will probably get it all back at the end of the year (except your fica and medicare)

You Will have an interview

You get paid for orientation

They will train you for whatever position they need and start you out there

They will choose your schedule based upon the availability you indicate on your application!.

Supermarket would be a better choice!. Stocking and Cashier pay better typically!. I have worked at fast food and supermarkets and thought the work and pay at a supermarket was better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
