How much is too expensive for watermelon?!

Question: How much is too expensive for watermelon!?
I'm selling watermelon this week!. 2 days I have so far!. They are from Sugartown, LA!. They are some great watermelon!. They are so sweet and red, very juicy, dark green outside, huge, the best I've ever eaten!. They are fantastic! Depending on the size of the melons, the prices range from $7 to $10!. $7 being avg or a little larger and $10 being humongous!! Yeah people buy them, they'll come back and get more every now and then!. Some people!.!. say!.!. "Oh, thats too expensive, not for me"!. Some people say they're cheap and the grocery store sells them for $9 but they are tasteless!. I bought 200!.!. $5 each!.!. The man that gives them to us doesn't sell them on the road or anything, he just grows them and sells them for resale!. So we aren't buying them from just another street seller!. Oh well!.!. So do you think thats too expensive!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Where I'm from they sell them by the pound !.49 cents/lb is a really good price for a whole melon!.
$10 just sounds like a lot!. Try $9!. & $6!.50 for smaller ones!.

Part of it has to do with marketing & the psychology of pricing!.

Good luckWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'm in Ohio that sounds high to me I wouldn't pay more than 5 anywhere ,,,but that In Ohio, they grow all over here

Their probably expensive 'cause they have to be shipped from another state far away from where you lived!. Say you lived in California and watermelon had to be shipped from Maine to that state! Then imagine how expensive it could be! lolWww@FoodAQ@Com

I never pay for watermelon!. I send my assistant out to look for it!. I make her buy only watermelons with 137 seeds!. No more no less, exactly 137 seeds!. Which is why I don't have an assistant anymore :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
