Not marshmallow candy?!

Question: Not marshmallow candy!?
This might seem bizarre but I'm deliriously tired and need to know!. I once had this candy of sorts that was white and kind of looked like a marshmallow however it was NOT a marshmallow!. It had a different consistency and did not taste like a marshmallow!. It was colder!? I can't explain!. Even though I often confuse my dreams with reality I'm quite sure this is not the case!. It wasn't hard but it wasn't really soft!. Actually it might have been kind of soft!. Maybe it had coconut!? No I don't think so!. Possibly!. It was not Turkish Delight nor was it marzipan!. It might have been Japanese!. I had it so long ago!. Oh dear!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds like some kind of a nougat!.
I googled Japanese nougat and got the recipe similar to Italian Torrone (my childhood Christmas fave)!. I was so happy to see the word Torrone!. Is that weird!?

In the south, there is a marshmallow-looking candy often called Divinity, but it is very sweet!. Made from egg white and sugar, I believe, usually with a pecan in the center of it!. It is kind of chewy like nougat, but soft when you bite into it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it was kinda sticky it might have been "mochi" a type of glutionous rice cakeWww@FoodAQ@Com
