Answers:
Yes, they definitely save you money as compared to the name brands, unless the name brands are on sale!. From my experience, the quality depends on the food!. We have a Save A Lot near us, obviously very cheap, but the quality of the food isn't always as good!. Take crackers for example, I try to avoid trans fats, and the ones I saw at Save A Lot and other generic brands, had trans fats where the brand name ones didn't!. Same with things I get my daughter like spaghettios!. The brand name has less sodium in it compared to the store brands I've checked out!. I try to get generic stuff when it's cheaper and the quality is the same, but I'll definitely spend the extra money on a brand name item if it's worth it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Some store brands are lower quality than the name brand products and some are EXACTLY the same!.

I use to work in a industrial bakery and we made both store brand and name brand breads!. If you go to your bread section and look at the colored plastic tags on the breads for the sell by dates, you will probably find that some breads have identical tags on them with just different bags!. The price difference can be more than a $1 per loaf for breads that were made litterally minutes apart in the same factory!.

I think many generic cereals are also made by the name brand companies!. Raisin Bran is Raisin Bran, but you can pay double for the Kelloggs!.

I had some generic Triscuits though and they were not as good!. So I just look for similar packaging and give the store brands a try!.

You can check the ingredient lables and compare to see if they are identical to the name brands!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes they can definitely save you money!.

In my experience though some are just as good but some are not!.

I have never had better in a store brand!.

The reason why it wouldn't be better is because they are made by the same company that supplies the brand name!.

It's called private label!.

The company that makes the brand name wants you to buy theirs so it would never make sense to sell a superior product to their brand name product!.

For the same reason sometimes the product is inferior (although only slightly)!.

I have had inferior products especially with premium products like premium mixed nuts where I get in the store brand mixed nuts with more peanuts than other or slightly less desirable ones!.

Mostly though I have found the products to be very similar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You still have to do the trial and error!. I have found some store brands to be equal to or superior to name brands!. Others are sub-par!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it depends!.!.!.sometimes the store brands are just terrible and there are things i will only buy brand names on!. Primary example--Hellman's Mayo (Best Foods)!. This one tastes the best!. Most everything else I buy is store brand though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

They are probably the same, just cheaper because they are made in store and don't have to be shipped from far away factories!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes i did a whole project on generic brands!. Sometimes the quality can even be better if not it's the same!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Store brands are made under contract by name brands!. For the most part, they are as good as any other brand!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

brands like Kroger are not quite as good, but I now buy them when they are cheaper than national brands!. I will not buy generic, however!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Store brands are definitely cheaper and usually taste the same!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is very worth it to buy generic brands!.!.!.!.!.!. And they do taste the same if not better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes they are better than brand name!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

save money but not always good qualityWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes! They really do and they taste the same to me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
