Why do we like more savoury and bitter things as we get older?!

Question: Why do we like more savoury and bitter things as we get older!?
I remember loving lollies and gum and sweet stuff so much when I was younger but I do tend to crave or want savoury stuff more than sweet stuff now!. Though I still love my sherbet at times mmmmmm!. And chocolate!.!.!.well yes I am a victim to that too!.
And I used to not like beer couldn't even stand the bitter taste!. Now I like a good beer or two!.

So is it because we become more bitter!? :D Joking!.!.!.sugar doesn't do it for us older people anymore!? No more sugar baby!?
I'm technically not a youth next year!. (12/13-25yrs old here in Aus) :(Www@FoodAQ@Com

There is scientific reasoning that kids tastebuds are geared to like sweet food & as we age, our tastebuds change & are geared toward less sweet food!.
It could be due to the huge amount of energy kids expend in their normal everyday growth!.!.!.Sugar intake = energy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

As a child you have way more taste receptors A!. and B!. thousands of years ago when we hunted and gathered we used taste as the indicator of poison if it was a bitter plant or berry it was poisoned and the sweet taste that young tongues love was a safe food to eat!. We have held this over (experts believe) and as we age our receptors change and some die so we taste differently!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Our taste buds develop!.

also, to some extent subconsciously our mind knows what it is that our body is craving and will want to eat it!. So as we get older we maybe need less sugar!.

However I'm more than twice your age and I want chocolate right now, so don't think that it's a total change!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

People's tastes change when they get older and our taste buds may have been more activated to the savory side !.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cause as we get older, the sweet stuff goes right to our thighs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
