How do you save when you grocery shop ?!

Question: How do you save when you grocery shop !?
Answers:
I'm a lifelong bachelor, and I've learned ALL the tricks!

Buy items ONLY when they are ON SALE AT OR BELOW THE LOWEST PRICE THEY'VE EVER BEEN ADVERTISED BEFORE!.

Use COUPONS, from newspapers and magazines, as well as from the store itself, and from internet coupon sites!.

Buy STORE BRANDS IF and WHEN they are as low or lower than any previous price advertised!.

ROTATE between two or three nearby stores; don't use the gas to go to a far away store just to save a few cents on a few products!.

BUY IN BULK on those occasions when something is marked lower than it's EVER been advertised before

WAIT UNTIL ANOTHER TRIP to buy things you use that AREN'T priced as low or lower than they've ever been before!. Use different items in the meantime while waiting for other items you use to go on sale!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Write up a shopping list and take advantage of discounts: If you purchase only those items on your shopping list, you won't overspend!.

Shop the perimeter of the store first: Items such as milk, bread, meats, dairy and fresh fruits and vegetables are typically located around the perimeter of the store!. If you shop for these items first, you'll fill your cart with the groceries most important to your family!. Afterwards, you can collect the rest of the items on your list!.

Look beyond eye level: Pricier name brand items are placed on shelves at eye level!. This is because marketing executives feel shoppers would prefer to reach for attractive packaging in a convenient location rather than hunt for a bargain!. Moreover, items attractive to kids are placed at a kid's eye level!. If you look higher or lower on the shelves, you're bound to find bargains!.

Eat before you shop: Have you ever noticed the first thing to hit you when you enter the supermarket is the smell of fresh baked goods!? There's a reason for this as well!. Baked goods are located at the entrance to the store so the aroma of fresh bread and other treats will make you hungry!. Hungry people tend to shop more impulsively!.

Leave the family at home: If you leave the kids at home, there are less people filling the cart with their must-have items!.

Shop with cash: You'll never be tempted to overspend if you leave credit and ATM cards at home and bring only enough cash for the food on your list!.

If you follow just a few of the tips, you're bound to save money!. Don't give in to temptation and convenience!. Take the time to plan out a list and be aware of common marketing ploys!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We follow a monthly menu of meals that require simple, cheap ingrediest--while at the same time being healthy!. We do a bulk grocery trip once a month!. We do smaller weekly trips for the weekend!. The weekend is the time I'm allowed to get creative and make better meals!. I love to cook!. I use coupons where I can!. Sadly, most coupons are for terrible foods that people shouldn't be eating in the first place!. If something we use a lot is on sale then we stock up on it!. We don't buy a lot of snack foods!. Instead, I make snacks from scratch!. Oh and most stores have an area in the back where they put discounted groceries!. These are usually items that are damaged or whatever!. I find good deals there all the time!. You can get perfectly good groceries super cheap just because the packaging is less than perfect!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can buy managers specials or department specials!. Most definitely have the grocers savings card which will save you money immediately as well as sometimes allowing you to rack up rewards points!. Check the weekly adds for things you want and when the deals end!. Go to local farmers markets for cheap local produce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My husband and I buy look at what sales the grocery store we shop at has!. If the things we buy aren't on sale that week we then look for the same product but in the store/off brand!. We don't frivolously shop like how two teenagers would shop when their parents go out of town!. We say ok what are we gonna eat this week and we buy accordingly to what we are going to eat for breakfast and dinner for the week!. Neither of us are home to eat lunch and we don't pack a lunch either!. As I become older, I realize that there is nothing really wrong with the store brand items!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My family has cut back on meat to 3-4 times per week!. With groceries as expensive as they are, I have started feeding the kids ramen noodles, canned soup, mac and cheese, and grilled cheese for lunch!. They aren't complaining but I know that I should be feeding them healthier!. Here is a weekly cheap supper menu:

Beanie Weinies (canned baked beans, slice weiners and stir in and bake)
green beans
rolls

Rice and beans
Corn bread

Vegetable soup
homemade bread

Scalloped potoates
english peas
rolls

Fish sticks
oven fries

Chicken nuggets
mac and cheese
steamed broccoli

The possibilities are endles! I used to spend $150 + per week at the grocery store for a famiy of 4 and now I have cut that in half using cheaper ingredients, coupons, and frugal recipes!.

I hope this helps!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I shop at Krogers so i go on the day the new sale starts!. I check the sale paper online the day before and see if there is anything on sale that i need!. Then on my grocery list i mark that item with an "S"!. I also look for managers specials on the meats, most of the time they are about to go out of date but if you aren't going to eat them right away then all you have to do is package them and freeze them as soon as you get home!. I also look for their 10 for 10 sales and buy kroger brand on anything i can!.
I just came back from the grocery store a few days ago and got 2 carts full of groceries, (with alot of meats), enuf to last a month, and only spent $150!.00!.
