good question but you know what i have found, the little non dairy creamers that you get at convenience stores when you buy coffee do curdle if not refridgerated and one time i left a tub of coolwhip in my trunk by accident, it fell out of a bag of groceries and got overlooked, it didn't rot or spoil but it pretty much dissolved, there was only about an inch of funny looking white stuff in the brand new bowl when opened it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you did not need to refrigerate Cool Whip, it would be called Warm Whip!. And yes, it will separate and be awful!. Use Redi-Whip, it's much better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Messa is right!.It would turn really runny!.It needs to be refrigerated because of some of the other ingredients that need coolness to keeps it thick!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wouldnt eat it if it wasnt refrigerated!. I would think it would still harbor bacteria because it would " break-down" and food liquids spoil quickly!. Dont eat it :o)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If there is hydrogenated oil in it, it would probably start separating out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I will spoil!. It may not be dairy, but that doesn' mean it won't turn into goo and liquid!. The consistency will be ruined!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you buy it from the refrigerated/frozen foods section at your grocery store, then that's where it goes!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
