Question: Is it ok to eat american cheese that's been sitting out for two days, unwrapped!?
I forgot it was in the bag with the canned cat food and it's been sitting out for a couple of days!. The slices are wrapped and the package is unopened!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The statement that the cheese was sitting out for 2 days, unwrapped, was incorrect, wasn't it!? Naturally, if that were the case with no wrapping, eating the cheese would be suspect with all the bacteria floating around in the food universe today!. But since the slices were wrapped and the package unopened, there should be no problem!. Even though the cheese in supermarkets is under refrigeration those packages in the upper sections are less in the cold than others!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well open it and see if it is molded!. I would also smell it also!. If nothing seems wronge with it put it in the fridge for a while and later get it out and eat a little corner of it!. If it tastes ok then you should be fine!. If it is gross then I would toss it!.

~Hope this helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com
