What's the deal with the sudden explosion of pomegranates!? Everything has a pomegranate flavor these days!. This is not a new fruit!. I don't get it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I remember eating them back when I was in jr and sr high, and that was in the 70's and 80's!. They were perfect for sneaking into class in my coat pocket!. I guess maybe the rest of society is catching up!.

I really can't say I understand the sudden obsession with pomegranates that our country seems to have begun!. I think that with the nations high levels of obese and unhealthy people, "health foods" become more and more popular!. Pomegranates are very healthy so I'm sure they have suddenly become so marketable due purely to the fact that they can be advertised as healthy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Americans are starting to recognize foods high in anti-oxidants and manufacturers don't want to miss out on the profits!. I'm sure they're not trying to help humanity!.
Poms are one of the oldest fruits eaten and cultivated by man and are now in the 'superfruit' category!

No, they are not new, they are a very old fruit!. They are even mentioned in the Bible!. They are excellent for your health and very delicious!. They have always been my favorite fruit!. I liked them before they were "cool!."Www@FoodAQ@Com
