Answers:
Eggs can last well after there used by date!. Get a deep bowl or pot and fill it with water!. Put the eggs in - if eggs are off they float in water and if they're still ok they will sink!.

If you eat an egg which is off you risk getting very badly sick with salmonella and other things - so I wouldn't do it!. Cooking them will not kill these sort of germs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No, it wouldn't be a good idea!. You probably wouldn't be able to get over the smell once you opened the egg, anyway! It stinks!!

Eggs are best fresh - put an egg in some cold water!. If it sinks it is fresh, but if it floats it is off - throw away, don't even crack it open!. As the egg goes bad, more air fills up in the air sac in the egg, causing it to float!. If the egg raises a bit in water, but doesn't totally float it should be fine, but the more it floats, the more it is off!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We eat eggs that are 6 weeks old on quite a regular basis!. If you crack it open and its smells OK, then it probably is ok!.

If you have been storing it at room temperature for 2 months I would probably bin it!.

"Andy" is wrong!. Eggs on supermarket shelves are up to 3 weeks old, its legal to sell them up to 28 days old!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
