Have you ever heard of humans that eat dirt?!
As stupid as that sounds, I was just told a story about a girl at work who claims to eat dirt on a regular basis!. !.!.!.!.
The girl telling me this story also claims that the "dirt eater" showed her a piece of paper from the doctor showing a condition where the human body accepts and uses it!.!.!.!.
I told this girl she was too gullible because I'd never heard of such a thing, but then I thought!.!.!.!.what the hell!.!.!.!.I'll see if anyone else has heard of it!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it is actually an eating disorder called Pica it is characterized by an appetite for largely non-nutritive substances (coal, soil, feces -yeah i said feces-, chalk, paper, etc!.) or an abnormal appetite for some things that may be considered foods, such as food ingredients (flour, raw potato, starch, ice cubes)!.It is more common with pregnant women,small children, especially children who are developmentally disabled!. I also have heard that people with an iron deficiency have a tendency to eat dirt!.

I have had family members that ate clay dirt!. From the south - red clay dirt and they baked it and ate it like a delicacy!. If you are missing minerals in the body I guesse you crave it like salty foods and nuts peanuts, cashews, seeds and such!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
