How is the quality of produce/meat at walmart?!
Walmart food (produce/meat) feels suspicious to me because it's so cheap!. Does anyone know how it compares to food at other grocery stores!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Honestly I don't care for the meat at Walmart!. I really don't find it less expensive then what I get at the grocery store!. There are times (a lot of times) it's more expensive then the grocery store!. I have gotten meat from Walmart and even the taste just doesn't have the quality the meat has at the grocery store!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Most meat at any grocery store is coming from the same general packing houses!. The large cuts of meat (primals) come in vacuum packaged and are cut down at a central location and sent out!. That is why all the packages are sealed and not over wrapped!. I tend to find the meat at Walmart pretty good!. Walmart has some of the best distribution systems so they have some of the most fresh meat!. Clearly this is not as good as a local butcher in many cases, but you are not paying local butcher prices either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it depends on what you buy!. I've bought hams that are good!. I stay away from their deli meats!. Sometimes I'll buy ground beef - for the most part I don't buy meat there, because it just doesn't look as good as the USDA Choice that my supermarket carries!. Buy maybe that's just my paranoia!.
I do buy a lot of produce from Walmart!. It's pretty hard to hide anything that's not right with fruits and vegetables!. I've bought lettuces, onions, tomatoes, peppers and the like and been fine with the quantity!. Although sometimes, when Walmart sells "by the piece", it's not a better deal than at the supermarket I usually shop at!.

not as good as kroger, but if you are on a budget it is ok!. The produce is a little ragged too!. I just don't buy groceries there, and i agree with the other person, don't buy meat or produce from meijers eitherWww@FoodAQ@Com

to be honest their beef sucks, im a good cook and when something doesnt come out right its usually the meat but people look at the cook like their at fault

The produce is not really good and the meat is not fresh!. I go to Marsh (only in Indiana) for fresh produce and Kroger for fresh meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
